1. Praise means to get exited about Jesus
-Remember the Old Testament wasn’t originally written in English. It was written in Hebrew. So sometimes the English words in the Bible can have more than one meaning to them, or there meaning can be a little different than we expect.
-The word “praise” has a lot more meanings than you think. There are about seven different words or meanings for the word Praise.
-Another meaning of the word praise is to get excited about the Lord
Let everything that has breath get excited about Jesus

2. How do we act excited?
-Yell, scream and shout
-Jump up and down
-Sing loud
Practice Thank God – loud, quiet, get excited, calm
3. Other times when we get excited
(Give out candy to the kids who get the most excited)
-You home on the couch watching the football team and your favorite team just won the game
-You mom comes home from work and says we just won a trip to Disney World
-It is Christmas morning and you just opened the present of your dreams
-Jesus died on the cross for you and now it is time to tell Him how happy you are about that.
4. King David
-Before David became king he was a shepherd boy
-He wrote many of the Psalms
-He loved to worship God with all his heart
-When he was king he had some very important jobs from God
-There was one job he had to do for God-He was so exited when he was done.
-He took off his robe and clothes right down to his under wear and started to dance and praise the Lord in front of everyone.
-He shouted, and jumped up and down and cheered and danced around in front of everyone.
-He wife was embarrassed, but David didn’t care he was praising God with excitement.
Imagine: If the president of the United States did something very important, and then he took off his suit and tie and started jumping around praising the Lord-screaming and shouting.
-David didn’t care who was watching or what people thought. He got excited about God.
Conclusion: We need get excited when we worship God and all the time.
