Discussion:

Introduction:
-Over the past few weeks we have learned a lot about praising God.
-Let’s review some of them:
-Who can tell me a way to Praise the Lord?
-Who can tell me what it means to “Make His Praise Glorious”
-Enjoyable
-Spectacular
-Better than the last time
-Who can tell me what we were created to do?
-Who can tell me how God wants us to praise Him?
-Can anyone remember people in the Bible that Praised the Lord?

Call On Me
-Today we are going to talk about another important principle that has to do with worshipping God from this verse
-Did you know that when you worship God you “Call on God”?
-When you worship God – you get God’s attention
-God gets excited when He hears us calling on Him
-God loves it when we jump around, shout, sing, dance and get excited about Him.
-Today I want to talk with you about another part of worshipping God that is important too.

Radio
-I brought my radio today –Who likes to listen to the radio?
-I really wanted to listen to the radio but I couldn’t do it because this is what happened (Turn it on – all fuzzy)
-Is there anyone who can help me?
-Have a volunteer come up and tune into a station.
-With some patience and time _____________ has tuned into a station so I can listen to my radio

Tune Into God
-A very important part of worship is tuning into God
-A lot of people think that when the band plays a slow song during worship
-“Oh good, I can sit down-my legs hurt-I can take a break”
-Slow songs do not mean break time – it means tune into God time
-This is a time when you can really think about how much you love God
-This is the time for closing your eyes, bowing your head, raising your hand and surrendering to God, kneeling.
-This is the time you tell Jesus how much you love Him, thank Him for what He has done for you
-It should remind you of prayer time – actually lots of people pray during this time.

I will answer you and show you Great and mighty things which you do not know
-Look at what happens during this time during worship
-See we have called on God – jumped around – Got God’s attentions
-Then we get quieter and focus on God and talk to God
-Then God speaks to us
-Who believes God can speak to you?
-Who has ever had God speak something to you?
-God speaks to us by the Holy Spirit – When we are focused on God, the Holy Spirit will put a thought or words in our heart
-I love you
-Don’t worry about __________________
-You need to forgive _________________
-Serve me with your whole heart

Conclusion:
-Today God wants to speak to your heart
-While we sing this next song – close your eyes –move away from the person beside you if you have to- let God speak to your heart
-Remember you can raise your hands, kneel, bow your head – What ever you want to show God that you are listening?
