Introduction: There are 2 ways we were created to worship God.

Praising God = Celebrating God is like celebrating a birthday.
-Who likes birthday parties?
-Why do we have birthday parties?
-Birthday parties are to celebrate someone age-the day they were born.
-What do you do at a birthday party?
-Hand out the cupcakes.
-What if we were going to have a birthday party for God, what would we celebrate?
-God doesn’t have a birthday because he was never born. The Bible says God has always existed, but there are lots of things to celebrate about God.

The meaning of praise
-Praise has to do with celebrating God.
-It means: to thank God for all He has done for us.
-It also means to throw a party.
-Just like we celebrate people’s birthdays, we need to celebrate God.

What are some ways the Bible tells us we can celebrate God?
-Speak to Him (Tell Him how thankful we are)
-Sing about Him
-Dance before Him (“Let them praise Him with dance.”)
-Play instruments for Him
-Clap
-Shout to the Lord

We were created to worship God.
There is a difference between praise and worship

Worship is showing our love to God.
-Who likes hugs?
-When you hug someone you are showing that person that you love him or her.
-There are all different kinds of hugs. (Have Emilie come up)
-There are group hugs. (Show)
-There are long hugs.
-There are short hugs.
-There is half a hug.
-How do you feel when you’ve given someone a hug?
-Now it is impossible to hug God right?
-But we can show God we love Him with the same love we use when we hug someone.

Worshipping God means showing God our love.
-The Bible tells us that we must worship and obey God.
-We worship God by honoring and obeying Him with our lives.
