Verse: …So That times of refreshing may come from the presence of God. Acts 3:19
Props:
Chubby Bunnies
You need:
2 girls
2 boys
Marshmallows
Garbage can / Bag
Instructions:
Each player is to put one marshmallow in his or her mouth and then say “chubby bunnies”. If they do that successfully then they put another marshmallow in their mouth and say “times of refreshing come from the presences of God”. The winner is the person that can put the most marshmallows in their mouth and say “Times of refreshing come from the presence of God” without chewing or swallowing the marshmallows. A player can quit anytime by spitting out his or her marshmallows in the garbage. If a player cannot say “Times of refreshing come from the presence of God” is caught chewing or swallowing their marshmallows they are out.

Introduction:
-You might be wondering what this verse has to do with what we have been talking about for the last several weeks.
-It has everything to do with praise and worship.
-This verse teaches us what happens when we worship God.
-It teaches why it is so important to worship God.
-It teaches us one of the secrets to being a successful Christian.
The presence of God
-What do you think the presence of God it?
-How do we get in the presence of God?
-Why is it important to be in the presence of God?
-Who can be in the presence of God?
Times of Refreshing
-What is a time of refreshing?
-Example:
Who as ever gotten in a fight with someone you know is going to beat you up?
-They give you a blow right in the gut or the back.
-You lose your breath – at that moment your life stops and you feel like you can’t move or breathe it hurt so bad.
Then all of a sudden you can breathe – the enemy leaves you alone
-That moment is a time of refreshing – a time to catch your breath, a time to regain your strength
-Now let’s think of this in terms of our life.
-Every week we all face situations that are like that blow.
-Our best friend lies about us
-Our family members say mean things to us
-We get in a fight with someone
-We get made fun of
-We thought we were doing really good in school until we get our grades
-When we face these situations it is just like someone punched us and knocked the wind out of us.
-We begin to feel sad inside.
-We feel what is the use
-We don’t want to live for Jesus anymore
What should we do?
-This verse teaches us how to make it through difficult situations and come out better in the end
Times of refreshing = times of regaining our strength and our breath from a bad situation
Times of regaining our strength comes from being in the presence of the Lord
Times of regaining our strength come from worshipping God with all our heart.
We can get over a bad situation when we decide to worship God with all our heart.
When we face a difficult situation if we get in the presence of God we will regain our strength to live for Jesus
Conclusion:
There are 3 kinds of people in the world:
1.Those who can’t praise God – If you don’t have a relationship with God, you can’t praise Him
2.Those who won’t praise God – You might think you are living for God, but you are too cool to praise Him – so you really don’t have a relationship with God
.3.Those who will praise God – For those of us who choose to praise God – our times of refreshing are when we praise Him.
