Discussion:

Introduction: God knows the future.
a. We are going to talk today about the future.
b. There people on TV who claim they can predict the future when you telephone them.
c. Some people say they can tell the future by the way certain cards are dealt.
d. None of those things are true.
e. Now I am going to do an experiment about telling the future.
f. (In a bag put 5 one inch pieces of red construction paper, 5 one inch pieces of slick white paper)
g. Now there are equal red and white squares in this bag so we have an equal chance a being right.
h. Have a volunteer come up and pick a piece of paper, before revealing it have the audience guess by raising their hand what color they think it is. Repeat this process. See who was right every time.
i. Now tell the audience that you will pick a piece of paper and before looking at it you will them what color you have picked. You can even close your eyes. You will get it right every time
j. Then ask the children “How did I do that?”
k. The secret is that I made this game. I had a plan from the beginning. Have a volunteer come and feel a red square and then a white square. Each time I picked out a piece of paper, I could tell by its feel which color it was.
l. I made the game, so I understood how it worked.
m. It is the same with God.
n. God made each of us. He made the earth, the heavens and everything in them. He knows how it all works. God know what is going to happen next.
o. Only God knows the future. That is why we need to trust in Him.
p. God made each of us special and different. He has special plans for each of us.
q. What do you think God wants you to do when you grow up?

2. God gives us all different talents.
a. Set out different jars with different things in them: white vinegar, bleach, soda pop, alka-seltzer with water, lemon juice in water, water, 1 tsp of baking soda in water. Talk about how God created us all different and special with special gifts and abilities.
b. Hold up jar of purple juice (made from boiling red cabbage). All the gifts and abilities we have come from God.
c. Pour the purple juice in each jar and see what happens.
d. As you are talk about how all our gifts are different but we should use our gifts to serve others and make Jesus happy.
e. Some gifts God gives are:
f. Teaching
g. Singing/music
h. Caring for others (cooking, visiting, sharing)
i. Planning and organizing
j. Fixing, building and repairing things
k. Giving
l. Preaching and speaking in front of others
m. Leading
n. We all have different gifts, but they all come from God.

b. He was the youngest in his family.
c. David loved God
d. He sang and wrote lots of songs to God while He was a watching the sheep.
e. One Day God spoke to a prophet named Samuel that David would be the next king of Israel.
f. Samuel came and told David.
g. David kept working hard, watching his father’s sheep.
h. When Israel was at war, David went to visit his older brothers.
i. While visiting, David heard about Goliath who wanted to fight an Israelite.
j. David was not afraid of Goliath because He knew God was stronger than Goliath.
k. David fought against Goliath and won.
l. Eventually David became King.
m. David was a shepherd boy (seemed small and insignificant).
n. God had a special plan for his life-God made him king.
o. God has a special plan for our lives.
p. That is why we need to follow God every day of our life.

Conclusion:
a. I have some candy hear. We are going to come around and you get to pick your favorite flavor.
b. Have your helpers pass out candy.
c. Imagine if all of you were in a bag and we asked God to choose his favorite. Would He pick through the bag saying things like “This one is too short”, “This one is too skinny”, “This one is too dirty”
d. No. The Bible says that God loves us all the same. We are all just as important to God. He made us all special. God does not have favorites.
e. God knew all about us before we were born.
a. He has given us all special gifts and talents.
