Props:
2 puzzles
2 volunteers
Cane
Loaf of bread
Bottle of water
Towel
Umbrella
Fish
Chain
Plate

Discussion:
Introduction:
-Who likes to do puzzles?
-Well, I have these easy puzzles and I wanted to time a few people and see who could do the puzzle the fastest.
-Pick a couple volunteers. Stress how important it is that they can do puzzles.
-Spread the pieces out on the table
-Tell them when to go.
-Do this a couple times.
-The last time quietly remove one of the pieces from one of the puzzles.
-Act really disappointed when the person doesn't do the puzzle.
-Hold up the puzzle missing the piece.
-This puzzle reminds me of a lot of people. How do you think?
-A lot of people have empty spaces in their life because
-They don't know Jesus
-They are lonely
-They can't do things
-They are going through a hard time
-Jesus wants us to fill these empty spaces.
-How can we do that?
-By loving others
-Jesus said in John 13:35 "By this all will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another."
-Who is a disciple?
-PEOPLE WILL KNOW THAT WE ARE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS IF WE SHOW LOVE TO OTHERS.
Bible Stories:
-Jesus sets the best example of loving others for us.
-If Jesus loved others and we are followers of Jesus, then it is important for us to love us
-Lets try to remember some of the people and ways Jesus showed love
-I brought a bag with props in that will help us remember some of the people Jesus helped. (Have volunteers come up and pick something out of the bag)
-Cane - people Jesus healed (Paraplegic, blind, deaf,)
-Loaf of bread - Jesus fed the 5,000 (He could have sent them home hungry)
-Bottle of water - Jesus gave the woman at the well a drink
-Towel - Jesus washed the feet of all his disciples
-Umbrella - Jesus calmed the storm so the disciples wouldn't be scared
-Fish - Jesus helped the fishermen catch fish after they had caught nothing all night
-Chain - Jesus set people free who were tormented by demons
-Plate - Jesus went to Zacchaeus house for dinner - nobody liked him
Think: (Have everyone bow their heads and close their eyes) think of all the people you know that could use some extra love. This week I want you to show love everyday to someone. It could be as simple as saying nice words.
Pledge: I promise to do my best to follow Jesus example and show love to other people even when I don’t feel like it. This week I will look for ways everyday to show love to another person.
