-What do you think the word patience means?

-Patience means – to put up pain, trouble or opposition without complaining

-Patience doesn’t sound like very much fun

-Remember the without complaining part of patience – We can put up with pain, trouble or opposition but if we complain then we are not patient.

-For the rest of our lives there will be chores to do

-Who would agree with me that chores are not very much fun?

-Let’s fill out this chore sheet to help you think about what you do.

Discussion

-In life some things are easier to do then others.

-What chore is the easiest for you to do?

-What is the hardest?

-What are the benefits of doing our chores well?

Patience Brings Reward

-When we do our chores –what is our reward?
-When we do our homework –what is our reward?
-When we practice something really hard - what is our reward?

-When we do work for God we need to be patient too

"Do not become lazy, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." Hebrews 6: 12

This verse teaches us that when we are patience we will be rewarded. We will be rewarded with God’s promises.

Moses had to be patient when he was helping his people get set free from slavery. He had to go to Pharaoh ten times before they were free.

Abraham and Sarah had to be patient. God told them they would have a baby. It took ten years before they had the baby God promised.

Noah had to be very patient when he built the arc. It took him a very long time to build.

Conclusion:

We need to be patient.

We need to be patient everyday – in everything we do.

We need to be patient when we are serving the Lord.

If we patiently tell our friends and family about Jesus – they will eventually decide to live for Jesus.

If we patiently save our money for a missions trip – we will eventually be able to go on a missions trip
