Loving Others

Verse: Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39
Props:
Jelly beans or jelly bellies
4 volunteers
Different flavors
Instructions:
Give the volunteers a couple jelly bellies of 1 flavor. When they try it. Have them give a thumbs up if they like it or a thumbs down if they do not. Do a couple flavors. Announce the flavors. Pick some strange flavors.
Discussion:
Today I brought with me some jelly bellies. They have hundreds of flavors of jelly bellies. They have really strange flavors! I want to see who loves the flavors I brought and who hates them.
Point:
It is fun to play games like this. It is fun to decide whether you like a flavor or not. Boys and girls we can do this with candy ,but we cannot do this with people.
The Bible is very clear that we need to love everyone. We cannot hate someone. We cannot choose who we are going to love and who we are going to hate.
If we are going to live for Jesus we need to love everyone, no matter what.
Conclusion:
Over the next few weeks we are going to talk more about loving others. We are going to talk about how we have to forgive others, and how we should treat others.
