Discussion:

-Over the next little while we are going to be talking about how to Walk, Talk and Live Like Jesus.
-The Bible says, “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.”
-Have children repeat this verse several times.
-Who here has decided to live for Jesus?
-When you decide to live for Jesus, you live in Him. Jesus lives in you and you live in Jesus.
-If we claim or tell other that we are Christians then we must live in Jesus – we must live the way Jesus wants us to live all the time.
-Living in Jesus means we are always living for Jesus.
-The first step to successfully living in Jesus is knowing Jesus.

Who Do You Know Game:

Instructions:
Give a scrap paper and pencil to everyone. Explain that I am going to show you some pictures. These are body parts of different people that go to our church. Tell the children they have to write on their paper who they think it is a picture of.

Go through the pictures and give the children a chance to write down their answers. Have them write #1 and then their answer etc. Go through the pictures again and tell who it is.
See it they got any right.

Discussion:
-How easy was it to identify each person?
-What was difficult about this activity?
-What things could I have taken a picture of that would have made it easier to identify each person?

-In this game it was difficult to identify or know who was in the picture because it was only a picture of one small body part.
-We can’t really know Jesus if we only see or hear about a small part of Him.
-If you only hear about Jesus once in a while when you come to church do you really think you can get to know Him?
-If you only pray to Him once in awhile-when you are in a bad situation do you really know Him?
-If you only read your Bible once a month do you really know Him?

If we are going to live for Jesus then we need to really know Jesus.

-We need to know:
-Who He is?
-What He was like?
-How He acted?
-What He did for us and others?
-What He expects of us?
-We need to recognize His voice when He speaks to us

If we are going to live for Jesus then one of the most important things is that we desire to get to know Him.

B. How do we get to know Jesus?

How do you get to know a new friend at school or in your neighborhood?
You spend time with them

We get to know Jesus the same way – you spend time with Him

For example:
1. Victoria likes to read stories about the presidents. She knows a lot about Abraham Lincoln because she has done research on him. Does Victoria know Abraham Lincoln? No – he is dead that would be impossible. She just knows a lot about Him.

2. Who hear knows Victoria? How do you know Victoria? You have spent time with her. Some of you know her better than others but you all know her because you have spent time with her.

When you come to Kidz Club all the time you learn about Jesus, but you will not get to know Him unless you spend time with Him. Knowing about Jesus will not help you unless you know Him personally. You cannot decide to live for Jesus unless you know Jesus.

Conclusion:
You need:
Bowl
Names of famous people written on scraps of paper
Volunteers

Instructions:
Explain to the boys and girls that there are names of famous people on the papers in the bowl. Choose a volunteer to pick a piece of paper. You could have the children write down or tell you names of famous people during snack time.

Discussion:
-How would your relationship with this person change the way you live, your free time or your group of friends?
-Would your parents approve of this relationship? Why or why not?
-Would you want to grow up to be like this person? Why or why not?

Now answer the questions as if Jesus were that famous person.
I am sure there are lots of kids that come to Kidz Club or go to church that know about Jesus. Some kids probably know tons because they go to Kidz Club 3 times a week, and some kids may only know a little because they only come once or twice a month. Knowing about Jesus is not what is important. Knowing about Jesus doesn’t mean anything. What is important is knowing Jesus personally – they way you know your best friend.
