-A long time ago there lived a woman named Hannah.
-You would have thought that Hannah would be a very happy woman as her husband loved her very much and gave her lots and lots of things – probably just about everything she wanted.
-Hannah was very sad
-Hannah would go to the temple and cry and weep
-Her husband Elkanah asked her “Hannah why are you crying?”
-Hannah was crying because she had no children and she wanted a child so badly
-Hannah cried out to God for a child, she said “God if you give me a son I will give him to God’s service all the days of his life.”
-Hannah called on God – What does God promise he will do when we call on him? (“I will answer you’)
-Soon after Hannah’s prayer she had a son
-She named her son Samuel
-When Samuel was old enough he went to live in the temple with the priest (probably around four or five years old)
-Hannah had many more children.
Conclusion:
-“Call on me and I will answer you” God says
-Hannah called on God and God answered her.
-Hannah had a desire in her heart to have children. God considered that desire to be important and answered her prayer.
-Today we can call on God and He will answer us.
