Discussion:

INTRODUCTION:
-Today I want to talk about some things that might seem really, really hard or impossible for you.
-Can you think of something in your life that seems really hard or impossible to do?
-Examples:
School work
Getting along with certain people
-Who would consider living for Jesus something that is difficult to do?
-Who feels like sometimes, in certain situations it is almost impossible to live the way Jesus wants you to?

Object Lesson:
-Today I want to do something impossible.
-I have this napkin soaking in water.
-Who thinks this napkin will catch on fire when hold the lighter up to it?
-It seems like it would be impossible for this wet napkin to burn doesn’t it?
-We are taught that water puts out fire.
-Now if I held up this dry napkin – do you think it will burn when I lite it?
-Of coarse, we are taught that dry paper burns in fire.
-Today I am going to do the impossible-I am going to burn this wet napkin.
-Who thinks it will work? Who thinks it will not work?

Lesson:
-It seems impossible to burn a wet napkin but it is not.
-Boys and girls, sometimes it seems impossible to live for Jesus – But it Never is
-The Bible teaches us that Jesus will give us the strength to do all things.

“ I can do all things through Christ because He gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

Conclusion:
-When you are having a really hard time living for Jesus, there is a great Bible story to remember
-There were 3 young boys, who all loved God very much.
-They were kidnapped and taken to live in another country.
-They were trained and forced to serve a king. This king and the people of this other country did not love God.
-It was very difficult for the, but they continued to follow and serve God.
-The king liked these young men because they were very hard workers.
-They became very important men to the king.
-Then one day someone talked the king into building an idol and forcing everyone to worship the idol. The people who did not worship the idol would be thrown in a fiery furnace.
-Meshach, Shadrach, and Abendigo knew they could not worship the idol-They must stay true to God.
-The king was so angry when he heard the three young men would not worship the idol. He did not want to kill them, so he gave them a second chance to worship the idol.
-Meshach, Shadrach and Abendigo chose to worship God no matter what the consequences and circumstances.
-The king finally had no choice but to throw the boys in the fiery furnace. They should have died in that furnace. Some of the guards throwing them in the furnace died.
-God did a miracle. God kept them alive in that furnace. It was even reported that there was a forth person in the furnace – Jesus was there with them.
-Many of us might face situations where it is difficult to serve God, but I know nobody here has ever faced as difficult of a situation as Meshach, Shadrach and Abendigo.
-We can learn an important lesson from these three boys: When we decide to live for Jesus, He will be with us every step of the way and He will give us the strength we need in every situation.
