Discussion:

Introduction:
a. What do you want to be when you grow up?
b. What special things do you want to do?

God thinks good thoughts about you.
c. Let’s look at these toys. (They are all battery operated)
d. These toys can only do certain things when they are activated.
e. When they are all alone in our room (turned off), do they get up and move around?
f. They cannot operate on their own. They have no mind of their own.
g. We can all move like these toys, but we don’t have to be turned on. We don’t have to make the same noise as them.
h. We can move freely and make noise freely.
i. We work from the inside (our heart and our mind)
j. God has given us the ability to move freely
k. God has given us the ability to make decisions as to
1. What is right and wrong?
2. What we want to be when we grow up
3. How we are going to treat
l. God has good thoughts about us.
m. The Bible says:
i. God gives us hope.
ii. God plans for us to prosper. (Be successful)
iii. God has a future for us.
iv. God even knows how many hairs are on our head.
v. God knows more about each of us than we know about ourselves.

We need to think good thoughts about others and ourselves.
n. Who as ever heard of the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”?
o. What do you think it means?
p. I have this book here, it is called . . ..
q. When I open it to read it, it is really . . ..
r. This same rule applies to people.
s. We should never judge a person by what they look like.
t. You might meet the best looking person in the world but their heart is full of bad things. They steal, hate others, fight, disobey their parents and do not follow Jesus.
u. You might meet kind a funny looking person-but if you give them a chance they might end up being your best friend.
v. They may be kind, considerate, and they may love Jesus.
w. Hold up bananas. Some bananas look all brown and yucky on the outside.
x. Other bananas look pretty nice on the outside.
y. Which one would you pick to eat?
z. You never know what it looks like inside until you open it.

Whatever we think in our heart about ourselves that is what we become.
aa. Hold up a half glass of water.
ab. One person might look at this glass of water and say it is only half full-who drank the water? Whose germs are on the glass? I need to find a clean glass for myself-I’ll never use that glass.
ac. Another person might walk in the same house and see the same glass of water and think “Oh I am so thirsty thank goodness there is a glass of water for me-I am going to drink it. Someone must have left it there just for me.”
ad. You can look at the same thing in 2 different ways.
ae. It is the same with your lives.
af. You might think, “What will I ever become. I am not a good student, I don’t have a lot of money, I don’t have nice clothes, I have never had the opportunity to do the things in may heart. I will never amount to anything.”
ag. I look at you and think, “ . . ..”

Conclusion:
ah. Hand out paper to everyone.
ai. Write down a good thought that you think God has about you.
