Introduction: Game
-Pick a volunteer to come up and write three statements down about themselves.
-Each statement should be on an index card.
-One of the statements should be false.
-When the volunteer is done read each statement then have the kids vote to see if they can guess which statement is false.
-You can repeat the game if there is time.
-Now in this game it was okay to be dishonest-it was kind of fun but in real life it is not okay to be dishonest.
-The Bible says, “The Lord detests (hates) lying lips.”
-If we are going to be a wise person we must always be honest.
-If we are and honest, trustworthy person we have integrity.
-Have kids scream “integrity”
Story of Zacchaeus
-Zacchaeus was a man who lived when Jesus was alive.
-Zacchaeus was the chief tax collector.
-Tax collectors were dishonest people. Everybody hated tax collectors.
-Tax collectors would collect taxes for the government but they were charge people extra and they were allowed to keep the extra profit they got.
-Tax collectors got rich by being dishonest.
-Zacchaeus was a very short.
-Jesus was coming to town on this certain day, and like everybody else Zacchaeus wanted to see him.
-Zacchaeus went to the road Jesus was walking down. There were so many people.
-Zacchaeus tried pushing his way to the front. Nobody like him and so nobody let him in front.
-Zacchaeus tried walking down the road a little, but there were so many people.
-Zacchaeus tried jumping up and down. He got so tired, and he could only get glimpses of the road.
-Then Zacchaeus saw a tree. He thought if I climb that tree I will be able to see Jesus.
-So, he climbed up the tree (stand on the chairs).
-He actually got to see Jesus very well walking down the road.
-When Jesus got to the tree Zacchaeus was in. He stopped
-Jesus looked up. Zacchaeus was so scared.
-Jesus said “Zacchaeus you come down from that tree. I am coming to your house for dinner.”
-It was a very big honor for Zacchaeus to have Jesus at his house. But why did Jesus decide to go to such a bad persons house?
-Jesus went to Zacchaeus’ house because Jesus loved Zacchaeus.
-That day Zacchaeus turned his life around.
-He decided to pay back all the people he cheated.
-Zacchaeus became a man with integrity.
