Discussion:

A. Introduction: Game “Shepherd Says”
-Have volunteers stand at back wall
-They have to do exactly what I say
-Walk ahead four paces
-Touch your toes and take two steps
-Stand on one foot and hop ahead 3 times
-Flap your wings like a bird, turn in a circle and take one step
-When they are almost at the finish line say “turn around and skip back to the start”

B. Listening Is Important
-In the game we just played listening to instructions was very important. It determined who finished the game.
-This game is kind of like our life.
-God wants us to listen to Him so we can complete our life the way He intended us to.
-The Bible compares our relationship with Jesus to that of a Shepherd and sheep. Jesus being the shepherd and we being the sheep.

C. Shepherds
-Keep Sheep away from harm (The sheep know the voice of a shepherd and rely his voice to keep them safe.)
-Lead sheep to food and drink
-Take care of hurt sheep
-Will stay with his sheep no matter what dangers there are and no matter what the whether is like.
-Sleep outside all night with the sheep.
-Are dedicated to their sheep
-Are Loyal to their sheep

D. Loyalty
-Sheep are Loyal to the shepherd.
-They will always listen and obey the shepherd
-Loyalty means to be constant and faithful to the people who trust in you, and to God.
-Shepherds and sheep are loyal to each other
-A wise person needs to be loyal to God and to others.

E. We need to be there for the people who depend on us.
I have some various objects that will remind us of people who may depend on us.
-Broom – our parents depend on us to do our chores
-Dog leash – our pets depend on us for walks and exercise
-School books – our teachers depend on us to finish our homework
-Telephone – friends depend on us to call them and encourage them
-Garbage- your next door neighbor depends on you to help get the garbage out
-Toys – your little brother or sister depends on you to play with them
