1. Story of the 12 Spies sent to the promised land.
-Moses picked 12 people to go and spy out the country where God wanted him and his people to live.
-God told them that he would help them get the land
-The 12 men went and looked over the land
-10 of the men were really negative. They said:
1.There are huge walled cities
2.There are giants in the land
-2 of the men came back with a good report. They said:
1.The food looked amazing
2.The land was beautiful
-12 men saw life from 2 different angles

2. Object Lesson: 2 Kinds of People
You need:
2 glasses - decorate with a face and feet
(One happy man and one sad man)
Blue food coloring in the sad man
Baking soda in the happy man
1 pitcher with water in it
1 pitcher with vinegar in it

-There are 2 kinds of people in this world
-There are people from all different races, with different color hair, eyes, skin and different sizes.
-Some people are fireman, nurses, doctors, teachers, mechanics, preachers, kings, beggars, salesmen, and soldiers
-However there are only 2 kinds of people.
-Each of these glasses represents 1 kind of person.

1. Believer
-A person who believes God's Word
-A person who has decided to live for Jesus
-A person who believes in the promises in God's Word
-They believe God wants the best for their life
-A person who chooses to obey what God says - walk, talk and live the way Jesus wants them to
-A person who follows the 4 Most Important Things

2. Unbeliever
-A person who does not believe God's Word
-Maybe they have never heard about God and how He sent Jesus to die for them
-Maybe they have heard the truth but they have decided not to follow God and obey God
-This person might expect the worst for their life
-When pressure and temptations come look what happens to this man
(Fill with water. It should turn blue)
-When an unbeliever faces pressure, he doesn't know what to do. He has no one to turn to for help
-He cannot see any answers to his problems
-He becomes sad, confused, depressed and feels hopeless

3. Believer
-Believers face the same pressure and problems
-As long as you are alive you will have problems and pressure to deal with
-However, a believer is filled with God's Word
-A Believer knows God's promises
-God's Word in a believer rises up and is more than enough to help the believer overcome their problems and pressure
(Pour the vinegar in the believer glass)
-God's thoughts and God's Words come out of believers so they remember
-"I am with you always"
-"God so loved the world that He gave His Son"
-"Cast your cares on Jesus"
-"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength"
-"Be kind and compassionate to one another"
-"Love the Lord your God with all your heart"

Conclusion:
-If there are only 2 kinds of people in the world that means everyone in this room fits into one of those categories.
-You are either a believer or unbeliever -there is no in between
-Raise your hand if you know you are a believer
-If you could not raise your hand you can change that right now
-You can decide right now that you want to become a believer
-Being a believer does not have to do with what church you go to or whether you are or are not baptized
-It does not have to do with whether you are good or bad
-Being a believer is saying that you want to live for Jesus.
-You believe:
-Jesus died for you
-God's Word is true
-You want to follow God's Word with your whole heart for the rest of your life
