*Told by someone dressed up like Isaac

Hello everybody!

Well I was asked to come here today to tell you about the day I almost died. It happened a long, long, time ago, but I remember the day like it was yesterday.

I woke up one morning really early because my dad, Abraham told me we were going on a camping trip. I loved camping with my father. It was our favorite thing to do together. My mom, Sarah cooked me my favorite breakfast (name it). I packed my backpack. My dad decided to take along 2 of our workers with us. I don't really know why but it didn't matter to me. My dad packed a few extra supplies and off we went. The only strange thing he took was wood. We had not done that before. I just thought maybe he wanted a big campfire or something.

My dad headed towards Mount Moriah. I thought that was strange we never go camping up a mountain. I just thought he wanted to do something different. We climbed and climbed and climbed until we reached the top. I was exhausted.

My dad told our 2 workers to wait at a certain spot. He said we were going further to worship God. We had never done that on a camping trip. There is always a first for everything.

My dad said we were going to build an altar. I thought that was really strange. I mean I had built altars before with my dad to offer sacrifices to God, But I had never built an altar on a camping trip. It was a really big altar, bigger than usual. It was too big for a lamb, besides there were no lambs up that high in the mountain. I even asked my dad where the sacrifice was. He said that God would provide one. I began wondering what my dad was going to do. We collected more wood for the altar. We prepared the altar for a sacrifice. We laid all the wood we had brought on it and the wood we had collected.

Then my dad started to tie me up and he laid me on the altar. I was really scared. I guess I could have tried to run away. But I loved and trusted my dad so much. Then I could hardly believe my eyes. He drew his big knife as if he was going to kill me. It was like I was to be a sacrifice.

Suddenly, one of God's angels appeared. He stopped my dad from offering me as a sacrifice. He said that my dad had shown that he feared God by not withholding anything from God, including his own son.

God provided a ram for us to offer as a sacrifice instead. It had gotten caught in the bush right beside us.

We offered a sacrifice to God. God spoke to my dad about how He was going to bless my dad.

Then we left and joined the other workers.

My dad and I have never really spoken much about that day.

It was really scary for me. I realized after that my dad was just doing what God had told him to do. God wanted to see if he was willing to obey, and if he was willing to give up everything for Him.
