The 4 Most Important Things
1.God loves me
2.I have sinned
3.Jesus died for me
4.I must decide to live for Jesus
-Cut 2 red hearts out of construction paper.
-Fold one of the hearts up and hold in behind the other. You could put a little tape on it to hold it in place.
-Hold up the heart so everyone can see. Remember the other heart should be folded behind the big heart. Nobody should see the folded heart.
-Talk about: God loves me.
-Talk about I have sinned
-What is sin?
-Have the children name some sins
-When we sin we destroy our lives just like I am destroying my heart.
-Rip the heart up carefully in pieces. Do not reveal the whole heart. Put the ripped pieces in a pile to line up with the whole heart.
-Talk about: Jesus died for me.
-When we do bad things we deserve to be punished.
-Jesus was punished for us.
-Jesus died on the cross as a punishment for our sin
-Talk about: I must decided to live for Jesus
-When we decide to live for Jesus – He forgives our sin
-When we decide to live for Jesus – He gives us the gift of Eternal life
-When we decide to live for Jesus – We get a new start and a new, clean heart
-(As you are talking, make sure the folded heart is in front and the pieces behind. Carefully unfold and display the whole heart. If you hold the heart from the top, you can hold the ripped pieces behind the heart easily. Do not drop or reveal the ripped pieces.)
