-Today we are going to learn about another characteristic of a Christian

Discussion:
This week I was trying to think about what it means to be thankful especially to God. I thought about a kitten. What does a kitten do when it is given food, love and warmth - or when it is happy? It purrs
Some say that a cat will only purr when someone is around. I'm not sure if that's true or not. I know it makes me feel good when I make a cat purr. I think purring is a cat's special way of saying thank you to us.
Just like a cat is happy when we care for it we need to be happy when God cares for us. God gives us a warm bed to sleep in, food to eat and clothes to wear.
What are some ways we can let God know we are thankful for what he does for us?
-Pray to Him
-Tell others about what God has done for us
-Do not complain about things
-Sing praises to God
-God is always waiting to hear our thanks.
Bible Story (As you are describing a leper, you could dress someone up as a leper)
Jesus traveled from town to town. He preached to people and often healed those who were sick. There was this terrible disease called leprosy that ate away at people's skin. People who got leprosy were covered with sores all over their bodies.
According to the law, people with leprosy were not allowed to live with their families. They had to live alone outside the town. They had to wear torn clothes, let their hair be uncombed, and cover the lower part of their face. They had to warn others they had leprosy by calling, "unclean, unclean." How do you think they felt?
One day Jesus came across 10 lepers. They stood at a distance calling out to Jesus for help. Jesus helped them by healing them.
After they were healed one of the men went back and found Jesus. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. The other nine forgot to thank Jesus for what he had done.
Conclusion:
We should try our best to be like the one man who came back to thank Jesus. We should thank Jesus everyday for the things He does for us. We should also thank other people for the things they do for us. Who are some people we could thank?
