Introduction:
-When we decide to live for Jesus we need to live for Him in every area of our life.
-That means we need to be very careful what we say
-The Bible actually compares the tongue to a powerful weapon.
-What is a weapon?
-A weapon can have a good use, protection.
-A weapon can have bad use, to kill and destroy.
-The same with our tongue-it can be used for good and bad
Bad Use
(Have a volunteer reach in the change bag and pull out dum-dum suckers)
-There are times in our life when we feel like Dum-Dums
-People say things to us that make us feel bad.
-People say things to us that make us feel dumb and stupid.
-People use their tongue in a bad way instead of the way God wants us to use our tongues.
Good Use
-God created us very special.
-God loves us very much.
-We should never think of our selves as dum-dums.
(Have a volunteer put the dum-dums back in the bag with you)
-God’s says something very different about us
-God says we are very smart
(Turn the bag upside down and dump smarties out of it.)
-Gods Word tells us he specially created us.
Conclusion:
So the next time someone says something mean to you, remember that is not the way God thinks. God thinks you are very special. God loves you very much.
