Introduction:
-What is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?
-How did it make you feel?
-What is the nicest thing you have done for someone else?
-Do you think it affected or changed their life?
Changing the color of water
-Hold up a glass of clear water. This is a plain boring glass of water. It is good for drinking. We can change the way this glass of water looks by adding food coloring.
-How many drops of food coloring do you think it will take to change this glass of water?
-Count how many you add before the water is changed.
Changing someone’s life
-When we treat others kindly, and serve them we are imitating God.
-When we do kind things for others we could change the way that person is feeling or thinking just like we changed the water in this glass.
Love never fails
-The Bible teaches us that “Love never fails.”
-When we are faced with a situation and we don’t know how to act we should always remember that acting in love will never fail. It will always be the right thing to do.
Being Kind and Serving Others is Easy
-How big or expensive do you think showing kindness has to be?
-Some people think it is hard and takes a lot of money or time.
-Let’s read a Bible verse about showing kindness.
Mark 9:41 “I tell you the truth anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.”
-Serving someone is as easy as giving someone a glass of water if they need one.
-Let’s think of some easy things we could serve others kindness this week.
