Introduction:
-We are going to talk about prayer.
-Prayer is a very important thing in the life of a Christian.
-A lot of Christians don’t really understand prayer – so we are going to talk about it so you can understand it better.
-What is prayer? Communicating with God
-If God knows everything about us why do we have to communicate with Him? God wants a relationship with us.
-Think of people you have a relationship/friendship with – what do you do with them? Spend time with them, talk to them
-If we want to have a good relationship with God, we need to talk to him lots and spend lots of time with Him.
Pray for Needs
-We can pray for things we need, certain situations and other people.
Mark 11: 24, “ I tell you to ask for things in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours.”
-What are things we can ask God for in prayer?
-What are some prayer requests you have here today?
-In a few minutes we are going to pray with you for these prayer requests.
(Victoria enters – acknowledge her and let her know what you are doing)
-Victoria should respond by saying – I know what you have been talking about so and so needs prayer for . . . . etc.
-How does Victoria know what we need prayer for?
-She was listening to us on the baby monitor.
Conclusion: Just like Victoria was listening to us, God listens to us also. It is hard to understand how God can listen to everyone all the time at the same time, but he does. God cares about you and the things in your life that you need. God always hears our prayers and answers them.
