2. Sin is gross!
-Today I want to talk to you about something very important – sin
-What is sin?
-Name some sins
-Some people think it is no big deal to sin a little.
-It’s okay to tell a lie
-It’s okay to take something you really need
-It’s okay to curse someone out if they made you really mad
-It’s okay to gossip to your friend so they can pray for the situation
-The truth is that sin is gross!!
-Sin is not cool, or cute
-Sin is deadly
-Sin will ruin your relationship with God
-Sin will ruin your life and get you into trouble
3. What would happen if we never washed our hands?
-Choose a volunteer. Imagine if __________never ever washed their hands.
-Dip their hand in the paint.
-Their hands would get pretty dirty after a while.
-What would happen if ____________ didn’t wash our hands for a few weeks?
-They would begin to smell and get very dirty.
-Dip their hand in the syrup
-When we don’t wash our hands for a long time what else gets on our hands besides dire?
-Germs - Our hands would begin to breed germs that cause diseases. We could get very sick
-Dip hand in crackers.
-What could happen next?
-Our condition would continue to get worse and worse. We would get sicker and sicker. We could eventually die
-Stick hand in dirt.
-You know what else would happen. We would make those around us sick and spread germs to them.
4. The Effects of Sin
-Did you know that sin affects our lives in much the same way?
-We might get a little dirty with sin and think it is no big deal
-If we don’t do something about sin. It will get worse and worse and worse
-The Bible teaches us that sin leads to death – just like sickness and disease
5. How do we get rid of sin?
-To get rid of dirt we can take a bath
-Wash the hand of the volunteer
-To get rid of sin – what do we need to do?
-We need to decide to live for Jesus
-When we decide to live for Jesus, Jesus washes away the sin in our life.
-Jesus gives us the strength and help we need not to sin.
-Jesus gives us eternal life – When we die, we don’t really die, we just move to heaven to live with Jesus
Conclusion: We must decide we are going to live for Jesus
