Discussion:
1.What do you think of when you hear the word “love”?
2.I have some things in this bag that remind me of God’s love.
3.Have a volunteer come and pull one thing out:
a. Log – Who can break this log? (Have someone try)
i. This log is unbreakable
ii. God’s love is unbreakable
iii. It doesn’t matter what you do God will NEVER stop loving you
b. Ring – Who can find the end of this ring?
i. There is no end to this ring
ii. There is no end to God’s love
iii. He always has loved you and always will love you
c. Stuffed animal – Who can come and give my animal a hug?
i. When do you like to hug or cuddle with a stuffed animal?
1.When you are sad, scared, lonely
ii. God’s love is like this stuffed animal because He is with us when we are sad, lonely or scared
iii. If we pray to Him, we will feel His love inside of us.
d. Cupcake – who wants to come and take a bite of my cupcake?
i. How does it taste?
ii. Good- This reminds me of God’s love because God’s love is always good.
iii. God wants good things for us- God gives us good things
iv. Compare to my own kids – I love them and I do not want bad things to happen to them.
v. The devil hates us-He wants bad things to happen – The devil is bad
vi. God’s love is good – God is good.
e. Whistle – Have someone come and blow the whistle.
i. In a sports game who blows the whistle?
ii. Why do they blow the whistle?
iii. God’s love lives in us and it is like that whistle-it will warn us if we try to do something bad.
iv. We need to listen to the whistle inside of us.
v. God loves us and He wants us to live a successful life
f. Rescue equipment
i. What do you do with this?
ii. God’s love rescued us from sin.
iii. God loves us so much.
iv. He wanted us to live with Him forever, and He wanted us to know His love forever
v. He sent Jesus – What did Jesus do?
vi. He rescued us from sin, and the devil.
vii. When we decide to live for Jesus, His love lives in us forever, and we will live with God forever
