Discussion:

At the Beginning of class make this announcement:

Important Announcement: (At the front of the room there should be an empty chair. The person who is not going to make the announcement should go to move the chair). The other person should object and explain that chair is for a very important guest. Later on we will see who the guest is. Talk to the kids about how they should behave when the guest comes.

Introduction:
Boys and girls we have been talking about how if we love Jesus than we should obey him in everything we do. This can be challenging sometimes. We all face situations where we have to make decisions on how we are going to act.

Game:

Directions:
-Choose a volunteer to come to the front.
-Give the volunteer 2-3 pieces of penny candy out of the candy chest.
-Ask them if they are happy that for no reason they got candy.
-Now ask them if they would like to trade the candy in for a chance to win one of the prizes in these balloons.
-Explain that they could lose everything or they could win-possible something even better.
-It is their choice whether they would like to take a chance or not.
-If they choose not to have them take a seat and choose someone who would like to. (Repeat the process with your new volunteer if necessary)
-Make the volunteer give back the candy.
-_____________ is going to take a chance to win something better.

Discussion:
-Has anyone here ever taken a chance at something? You had a choice to do one thing or another.
-Sometimes taking chances can be a good thing
-For example inviting a friend to church –They may say “yes” or they may say “no”. You took a chance. If they say “yes” they might decide to live for Jesus and their life might be changed.
-Sometimes taking a chance might be very foolish
-For example if your friend dares you to go to a corner store and steal candy. You could get caught and get in big trouble.
-All though life we will face situations where we will have to make choices or take a chance.

Play the game:
-___________________ has decided to take a chance. They could win something better or they could lose everything.
-When I count to 3, I want everyone in the room to tell __________ what balloon to pick.
-Now ___________ - what balloon do you want to pick?
-Are you sure?
-Give them the needle and have them pop the balloon they have chosen. Read or see what they have won.

(This game could go 2 ways. You can congratulate them on winning or be sorry that they lost. If they lost, be sure to pop the other 2 balloons to see what they could have won.

Conclusion:

We can avoid many problems in our life by taking time to find out how God want us to live and act in our lives. If we really love God, then we will obey and live by His Words. When we live by his Word we will not take chances or make choices that will end in a bad way.

Everyday of our lives Jesus wants us to follow and obey Him. We will still have choices to make and chances to take, but they should all be based on God’s Word.

Now who wants to know who our special guest is? Before I introduce our special guest. How are you going to act around them? (You should be on your best behavior.)

Today our special guest is Jesus. Jesus has actually been here all along today – right from the very beginning.

The Bible teaches that Jesus is ALWAYS with us. He knows everything we do and say. He knows every choice we make and every chance we take. Jesus wants everything you do make him happy. He wants you to obey Him all the time. That is the choice you have to make today. Are you going to walk, talk and live the way Jesus wants you to all the time?
