Discussion:

Introduction:
-We have been talking about all the different things we need to do as Christians to live for Jesus
-We talked about hanging around the right people
-We talked about letting Jesus have control of our lives
-We talked about how we can move mountains in our lives
-We talked about 2 mountains that get in the way of all Christians
-FEAR
-DOUBT

Fear and Doubt keep us from doing all the things God wants us to and they keep us from living the way he wants us to.

Miss Michelle: (interrupts)

Has a bag of goodies that she has brought to Pastor Eric. Each of the items is no good by itself. It needs something else to go with it. In the bag are the following things:

-Ketchup (no French fries)
-Happy meal box (nothing inside)
-Empty pop bottle
-Pen (no ink)
-Toothpaste (no toothbrush)
-2 pieces of bread (nothing in the middle – not a sandwich)
-Water gun (no water)
-Freezy bag (no ice)

Pastor Eric: None of these things are any good to me. They are all missing something

Miss Michelle:

That is exactly why a brought them to you. You see, today I want to talk about:
2 things that go together
2 things that can’t live without each other
2 things that we need to have in our life if we are going to live for Jesus

James 2:17 Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

In order for you faith to move mountains it must have works to go along with it.

You must have Works with your faith!!

Eric: So you mean we need a job? It is good to work but some of these kids are a little young to work.

Michelle
No! The Bible is not talking about THAT kind of work. It’s talking about the kind of work that goes with your faith.

Remember faith is trusting God’s Word. So, adding works to that means to trust God AND do what He says.

Work = Action

Bible Story: Jesus Feeds 5,000 (using the magic bag)

Eric – Altar Call

Who believes in Jesus, goes to church, and still is disobedient in some areas? It is time to take action to what you believe.
