(After we sing Pastor Eric should pull up a chair and begin examining – sniffing and lovingly looking at – the empty candy bar wrapper)
Miss Michelle asks Pastor Eric to move because he is interrupting the class etc. . . She finally asks – “What are you doing?”
Pastor Eric is enjoying his candy bar. Look at how it looks. Smell it . . . Would you like some Miss Michelle?
Miss Michelle – Pastor Eric you have really gone crazy this time – it is empty. There is no candy bar. It is just a wrapper.
Pastor Eric – No it’s not. Look it is a (name the kind). It says . . . . See. Look here is the logo. It is the real thing. Smell how good it is. It smells just like chocolate – not a wrapper. IT IS REAL! What do you think I am dumb or something? Check it out!
Miss Michelle – No, I am telling you it is just the wrapper. Where is the candy bar?
Pastor Eric – Show everyone – you are very frustrated. . . HERE is the candy bar. Are you all blind or something?
Miss Michelle – Well, I am just going to leave you to your “candy bar” and we are going to continue with the lesson. Would you mind just moving out of the way.

We are all little bit like Pastor Eric sometimes. We pay so much attention to the wrapper that we forget about what is inside. When really the inside is the most important.
The wrapper is just like our bodies - our appearance.
We spend a lot of time on the following
-What we are going to wear? Is it in style? Is it the latest fashion? Does it match? Do you I look good in it? What are people going to think of me when I wear it?
-Do I smell good in this perfume or cologne?
-Does my make up look good?
-Do my shoes match what I am wearing?
-Am I wearing enough jewelry?
-How’s my hair? Should I cut it – do I need braids? Do I need to color it? Should I straighten it?
We spend all this time every single day focused on our wrappers – our outward appearance.
HOW MUCH TIME DO WE SPEND ON THE INSIDE?
Everyone knows the best part of the candy bar is on the inside of the wrapper.
The most important and the best part of all of us is on the inside.
1. Do we have a relationship with Jesus? Have we decided to live for Jesus? Is Jesus our best friend?
2. What kinds of things are on the inside of us? Are they things that please God?
Do we have things that displease God like – hate, anger, rebellion,
Do we have things that please God like – love kindness, patience
Conclusion:
The Bible teaches us this in Matthew 6:33
