Day before: Make a sacrificial lamb. Fill the plastic bag with corn syrup and red food coloring. Seal the Bag and mix thoroughly. This will create ?blood. Crumble and wrap newspaper around the bag to create the body of the lamb. Cover with 2-3 layers. Make four legs and attach them. Make a tail and neck, and then make a ball of newspaper for the head. Use white spray paint to cover the lamb and let it dry.

1. A long time ago, men entered into covenants for their own protection.
A. These covenants were created for: protection, safety from bigger tribes or groups of people. There were also created to do business.
B. These covenants were very serious pledges that could not be broken. If they were broken it could mean death. Today people do not take pledges very seriously (marriage).
C. The covenant-makers sealed their promise to each other with a blood sacrifice. The two groups would make promises to each other like: We will fight in battle with you: We will not go on your property: We will provide you with food: We will give you our sons and daughters to marry. When the promises were made, the 2 parties killed and animal and walked through its blood. The blood signified that the covenant was important. (As you talk show your animal)

2. The Lord made a blood Covenant with a man named Abraham.
A. When they made their covenant they each promised something. Abraham promised to give God worship, honor and obedience. God promised to give Abraham protection, wealth, health and a son.
B. God gave Abraham a son named Isaac. It was impossible for Abraham and Sarah to have a child. Now they were very old. Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 when Isaac was born
.

3. God made a covenant with us when He sent Jesus to die for us.
A. Jesus came to the earth to die for the sins of man. How would you feel if you knew that you had to die for other people? Jesus was happy to obey God.
B. John the Baptist said that Jesus was “the lamb of God” (Hold up the lamb). The lamb was the most popular animal used in a covenant.
C. When Jesus died on the cross; the Lamb of God shed His blood to fulfill the covenant. (Plunge the knife into the belly of the lamb and let the syrup mixture drip into the pan)
D. Jesus’ blood sealed the covenant for us so it cannot be broken.
E. We must promise to give God worship, honor, and obedience just as Abraham did.

Closing: In order to be apart of God’s covenant all we have to do is decide to worship, honor and obey God. The price of our sin’s was already paid with the blood of Jesus. See if anyone wants to get saved. If everyone is saved pray for unsaved friends.
