Introduction:
-Who can tell me what we have been talking about for the last several weeks?
-We have been talking about how important it is for us to live by God’s Word.
-Before we begin our lesson today I have some questions I want to ask you.

Quiz:

1. How many of each type of animal did Moses take onto the ark?
(None. It was Noah on the ark)

2. You are the driver of a train. There are 30 passengers on board. At the first station, 10 passengers get off. At the second station, 5 passengers get on. What is the name of the train driver?
(The name of whoever answers)

3. It is noon. You look at your watch, the little hand is pointing to 3, and the big hand is pointing to 6. What time is it? (noon- you watch stopped)

4. Let’s all spell the word STOP together. Then I am going to ask you a question. Count to 3 and spell the word STOP with everyone. . . What do you do at a green light?

5. Let’s spell the word SILK together. Then I will ask you a simple question. Count to 3 and spell the word SILK. What do cows drink?

6. 2 sentences are written on overheads. Explain to the class that you are going to put one sentence up on the screen. Give everyone 15 seconds to study it, and then you want to see who can Memorize the sentence.

-After 15 seconds turn the overhead off. Have a couple volunteers say the sentence. Most will get it wrong be the word “the” is repeated and in one and the word “A” is repeated in the other.

Point:

-In these questions we just asked you, your senses –sight, hearing, and your mind let you down. You thought one thing. You saw one thing. You heard one thing. However, the truth was something completely different.

-Question: Who has ever had a person let you down? What did they do?
-There is only one thing that is completely and totally reliable –100% of the time – God’s Word.

-We can rely on God’s Word everyday and in every situation we face. God’s Word will never disappoint us. God’s Word will never give us the wrong answer.

-We need to decide to completely trust in God’s Word.

-We need to study God’s Word and apply it to our lives.

Challenge: In order to live by God’s Word. We need to know what God’s Word says. Today I want to challenge all of you to read you Bible for a few minutes each day.
