Review the 4 Most Important Things

3. Jesus died for me
4. I must decide to live for Jesus
You Become new!
-The Bible teaches us that when we decide to live for Jesus we become a new creation.
-We put on a new self
-All the old things we used to do are gone.
-We have a brand new, fresh start in life
Bible Verse:

Object lesson:
-Have Pastor Eric come to the front
-Before we decide to live for Jesus our life is just like the shirt you are wearing today – dirty and sinful
-When we decide to live for Jesus –it is just like getting a new shirt.
-Give him the shirt and have him put it on
-We become a new person.
-We have a new start in life
-But Pastor Eric when we sin and decide not to live the way Jesus wants us to live this is what happens
-Some people decide to sin on purpose-they act like Jesus doesn’t mean anything to them.
-Put ketchup and mustard, BBQ sauce all over his new shirt.
-Just like your like your old shirt was dirty, now this one is dirty.
Don’t Dirty Your Shirt
-Pastor Eric the Bible does tell us that when we mess up God will forgive us, but it also gives us strict instructions that we are not to just go around sinning.
-Let me show you why this is so important.
-Pastor Eric – Were you excited about your new shirt? Do you want to show someone?
-When we decide to live for Jesus we are supposed to tell others about our new life and about what Jesus did for us.
-Let’s see how this will work.
-Pastor Eric you are going to try and convince Josh that he can get a brand new white shirt just like yours for free.
-Josh doesn’t want it – What is the difference between his dirty white shirt and Pastor Eric’s shirt
Point
-Why doesn’t Josh want a new shirt like Pastor Eric’s shirt?
-There is no difference – Pastor Eric messed up his shirt and now there is no difference.
-When we decide to live for Jesus we need to live differently.
-People around us need to see a difference in our life.
-If we go around cursing, fighting, stealing and saying mean things-others won’t be able to tell that we are a Christian.
-They won’t want what we have because they won’t see a difference
-If we want our friends to decide to live for Jesus just like we have, then they need to see the difference!
Conclusion:
Boys and girls, it is true that when we mess up that God will forgive us. We just have to ask Him for forgiveness. It is also important that once we decide to live for Jesus that we STAY AWAY FROM SIN. We need to live different!
