Props:
You must be sitting down
1 small glass
1 napkin big enough to cover the glass
1 quarter

Trick with a twist: Talk about how a lot of people want to know if a solid object can really penetrate through another solid object. Today we are going to do an experiment to see if it can truly happen.
We are going to see if we can make this quarter disappear-penetrate through the table.
First you need to put the table in just the right spot on the table. It needs to be flat and yet sort of soft. Act like you are trying to find the right spot. Then you need to put this glass over the quarter. Make sure the quarter can’t get out of the sides of the glass. Move the glass around a little to prove it. Then we are going to put this napkin over the glass, so you can’t see the quarter. Then we are going to tap the glass 3 times. Lift up the glass as if you were expecting the quarter to disappear. However, the quarter is still there.
Well, I guess this trick needs a little practice. Sometimes it doesn’t work the first time. Try to find another spot on the table. Repeat the process, only just keep the napkin on the glass this time. The quarter still doesn’t disappear.
Let’s try again. Repeat the process. Pick a spot not too far from your body. When you pick up the glass to show the quarter has disappeared, slide the glass toward your body and drop the glass inconspicuously in your lap. Keep the napkin formed like the glass is still under it.
Act annoyed, and try the trick one more time. This time go to hit the glass hard, but the glass is not there. It looks as though it goes right through the table.
To your amazement the glass has gone right through the table and left the quarter still sitting there.
Discussion: This trick reminds me of something. You see in this trick, it appears that the glass has just vanished.
The Bible talks about something else that vanishes. OUR LIFE
James 4:14 says, “ For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”
When we are young we feel like we are going to live forever. We have a long time ahead of us. We think we will always have tomorrow.
But the truth is that our life is like a vapor – here one minute and gone the next.
We never know how long we have.
We should never wait to get right with God. We need to decide to live for Jesus today-right now.
We need to live everyday to the fullest.
Don’t put off serving God until tomorrow. You might not have tomorrow.
