Introduction:
-Hold up salt and talk about what we use salt for
-Read the rest of the verse “But if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”
Discussion:
-Who likes milk?
-Milk is okay but there is something better than milk – chocolate milk
-Today I thought I would make some chocolate milk to drink
-I have some sand here that I am going to add to my milk – actually it is cat litter fill.
-There we have it chocolate milk
-Who would like to come and drink my chocolate milk?
-What is wrong with my chocolate milk?
-In order to make something taste better, we have to add good stuff
-Is cat litter fill good?
-Take the other glass and add chocolate milk
-Now this glass of milk is going to be very good
-Chocolate syrup mixed into milk tastes yummy
-This reminds me of what is going to happen when we go back to school
-When we go back to school we are going to mixed in with lots of people who don’t know Jesus and aren’t always very nice.
-Our job as Christians is to make our schools and neighborhoods better places.
-People who belong to Jesus are to be mixed into the world to make it a better place.
-God does not want us to be like the cat litter, which added bad flavor to the milk.
-God wants us to be like the syrup which added good flavor to the milk
Conclusion:
-How can we add good flavor to the world?
