Lukewarm Christians

Verse: So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16
Props:
2 blindfolds
2 volunteers
1 cold drink
1 lukewarm drink
Instructions:
Choose 2 volunteers. Blindfold them. Give them each 2 drinks (lukewarm pop and ice cold pop) and ask them which one they prefer.
Discussion:
On a hot day of coarse everyone prefers ice-cold pop. Lukewarm pop is nasty.
-Jesus told the church that He preferred people who know nothing about Him or wanted nothing to do with Him over lukewarm Christians.
-What do you think a lukewarm Christian is? (Someone who know about God, but doesn’t know God, someone who knows how a Christian should act but does their own thing)
-A lukewarm Christian means you know about God, you think you’re okay with God, but you are not living out what you believe.
-God can’t stand lukewarm Christians. It says in Revelations that those kinds of Christians make God want to throw up.
Conclusion:
According to what we learn in the Book of Revelation, there are 3 groups of people, cold – lukewarm – hot. We need to decide which group we belong to and we need to decide if we need to change to another group.
Hold up a sign the represents each group and talk briefly about each group.
Challenge the kids as to what group they belong to and what group Jesus wants
Them in.
