Discussion:

Introduction
-Review the Four Most Important Things
(Have a contest to see what side knows the four most important things the best. Point to the girls and tell them a number. They have to tell that point. We will see what side is the loudest and answers the best.)

-When you decide to live for Jesus what happens?
-Jesus forgives your sin
-Jesus makes you a brand new person
-Jesus gives you the gift of eternal life

Don't hold a Grudge
-Today we are going to learn a very important lesson about forgiveness.
-The Bible teaches us this:

"If you forgive others for the things they do wrong, then your father in heaven will also forgive you for the things you do wrong."

-If you want God to forgive you, what do you need to do?
-When you forgive others than what will God do for you?
-What do you need to do? - Forgive others
-What if someone does something really, really bad?
-Do you think God minds if you hold a grudge if someone does something really bad?

Object lesson:
You need:
volunteer
Large pillow
Can/bottle of pop
Something to eat
Shoe
Tissue box

Object: Choose a volunteer. Have them stand at the front in front of the table with the various objects on it. Explain that you are going to ask the volunteer to do a few simple every day things. All they have to do is what you ask them to. They can win themselves a treat just for doing what you tell them. You are not going to ask them to do anything weird. Ask them if they are ready. Do they understand the rules? Do they think they can handle it? Right before you start-there is one more thing. Pull out the big pillow. They must hold this pillow in their arms. They must hold the pillow up against their body and hug it. They cannot let go at any time. Make sure they are in the right position. Make sure they understand the instructions.
1.Take a drink of pop.
1.What is wrong?
2.Why are you having a problem?
3.Ask the audience who can take a drink.
2.Have something to eat - open it and take a bite.
1.Now what is wrong?
2.Don't you like ____________
3.Ask the audience who easy it is to eat. . .
1.Can you please tie my shoe?
2.Don't you know how to tie?
3.You don't want to tie my shoe.
4.What would Pastor Eric say about that?
5.Try this one - everyone knows how to do it - blow your nose
1.Are you embarrassed?

I am afraid you are not going to get your candy because you didn't do anything I asked you to. I thought you would do whatever I asked. I am disappointed. Why are you not doing what I told you?

Conclusion:
-Boys and girls this pillow is like unforgiveness, or like holding a grudge.
-When you hold on to hate, anger, and unforgiveness, when you hold a grudge, you miss out on a lot of other things God has for you.
-Anger, hate and unforgiveness get in the way of God's forgiveness.
-These things get in the way of the things God has for you.
-These things get in the way of the things God wants us to do and has planned for our life.
-Boys and girls we need to let go of unforgiveness, hate, and anger. They only ruin our life.
-When you let go of these things, then you can receive God's forgiveness and the things God has for you.
-Have the volunteer let go of the pillow and perform the tasks.

Prayer: Challenge the boys and girls to let go of unforgiveness, and hate in their heart. Pray with them
