The Cool Rules

1. God comes first
2. Only worship God
3. Keep Gods name Holy

Introduction: Egg Toss
Have 2 volunteers come up for an egg toss against you and another volunteer.
The volunteers have a hard boiled egg, you have a soft-boiled egg.
Discuss the rules. (Toss carefully if it is a success step back).
Discuss:
How do we need to treat the egg? (Have the volunteer being really careless)
What will happen if we are careless with the egg?
What do you think the secret to winning is?
The volunteer should basically drop the egg and smash it just before the game (over the table or something-maybe she tries bouncing it on the table)
The other team wins - why? Because they treat their egg with care.

Money Giveaway
Choose a pre-selected volunteer (pretend they are not pre-selected).
Write them out a check for $25.00, and hand it to them.
Explain what a check is:
You can go to the bank and cash it for the amount of money written on it
It is just as good as money.
Hand the check over to the volunteer.
As the volunteer is walking away have them rip it up and throw it over their shoulders.
Talk about why what the volunteer just did is not wise.
How should a check be treated?
Would it be good to write all over a check?
Would it be good to lose a check?
Is it good to tear up a check like (volunteer's name) did?

Keep God's Name Holy.
One of the cool rules is to keep God's name holy.
It really means we need to respect God's name. We need to use God's name carefully.
In the Egg toss (volunteer's name)handled the egg with respect.
In the same manor we need to respect God’s name.
(Volunteer's name) handled the check disrespectfully and lost $25.00, if we disrespect God's name we will miss out on the things God has for our lives

Story about the jacket
When I was younger, I desperately wanted a jacket just like this one-hold up a jacket. I begged and begged my mom for a jacket. My mom always said that the jacket I wanted was too expensive and that we didn't have the money. She told me I would have to be happy with the jacket I had.

Finally on my birthday, I opened up one of the packages and there was the jacket I wanted. I knew all my friends would love my jacket. I was so excited. I tried the jacket on right away. It fit perfectly. I wore it the rest of the day, and in the morning as soon as I got dressed I put that jacket on.

Before I left for school, my mom warned me, "Be careful with that jacket it cost a lot of money and I don't want it ruined. Take good care of it." I promised to take good care of the jacket and tried to wipe off the jelly I had already spilled on it while my mom wasn't looking.

At recess time, I wore my new jacket out on the playground. It was a hot day, and none of my friends were wearing jackets, so I slipped my jacket off and put it off to the side. While I was playing it fell in the mud. Then someone stepped on it by accident.

On the way back inside, I tried to wash off the mud, but it smeared worse. Then the worst thing happened I lost it at lunch time. Luckily a teacher found it. At the end of the day the teacher held up a jacket that sort of resembled mine (much dirtier) and asked who owned it. I reluctantly claimed the coat.

I knew my mom would be really upset, so I hid the jacket in our garage, figuring I would take care of it later. Sure enough when I walked in the house the first thing my mom asked was, "Where is your jacket?"

Sadly I took her the very dirty jacket. My mother loaded the jacket into the washing machine with some soap and washed it. Once it was done it looked as good as new. "Now take better care of your jacket.” My mother said, "When you have something worth a lot, you must either decide to use it right or not at all."

E. Conclusion
You could say the same about God's Name.
His name is very important and powerful when used the right way:
To pray
To thank Him for what He has done
To tell others about Him
When we use God's name any other way is not worth very much to us and it shows God is not important to us. For example:
For swearing
If we truly want to live for Jesus and show Jesus how much we love Him we must follow the cool rules.
God comes first
Only Worship God
Keep God's Name Holy
