Introduction:
Hello Everyone! It is good to be here tonight. I am going to ask Pastor Eric to come up with a chair. Now I am going to ask Robbie and Victoria to come up and tie Pastor Eric to the chair. Make sure he can't escape but also make sure you can untie him afterwards.
Tonight we are talking about the choices we make. Everyday we all make choices. Some of the choices we make are important and some of them are not so important.
Some not so important choices we make are:
what we are going to wear?
what we are going to eat?
whether we will watch CSI or Law and Order?
Some important choice we make are:
will we go to church or not?
Who will we hang around?
What are we going to do with our life?
Will we finish our education?
Tonight I am going to call Emilie up to the front. This is Pastor Eric's loving second oldest daughter. Tonight I am going to give Emilie a choice.
Emilie you can have this candy if you throw this glass of water at your dad or you can walk away without the candy. What will you choose to do?
(Bribe her with more candy and money. Really try to talk her into it. She is going to continue to choose "no")
Conclusion:
Well it looks like there is nothing that I can do to convince Emilie to make a different choice.
Emilie is not going to throw the water on her dad so . . .
Pastor Eric the consequences are that you get to go free - untouched - not wet- Robbie and Victoria come and let him go.
Every choice we make has a consequence. Emilie's choice had good consequences - Pastor Eric is free and dry. Had Emilie made a different choice Pastor Eric's something different would have happened to Pastor Eric.
Nevertheless, when there is a choice involve there is a consequence.
If you choose not to eat breakfast - you will be hungry
If you choose to watch CSI - you won't know what happened on Law and Order
If you choose to drop out of school - you won't graduate
If you choose to not go to church - you relationship with God will suffer
If you choose to put your winter coat on when you go outside - you will be warm
ALL CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!!
