Meditating On God's Word

Posted by: Buffalo Dream Center

Topic: God’s Word

Verse: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But His delight is in the law of the Lord And in His law he meditates day and night Psalm 1:1,2

Discussion:

-In Hebrew the word meditate means to chew on
-Choose a volunteer who can blow bubbles
-Give volunteer a piece of bubble gum and tell them to break off a piece – a smaller piece
-Instruct them to put it in their mouth and chew it (repeat the Bible verse)
-Ask them to produce a bubble (which should be impossible)
-Why can’t you produce a bubble – not enough gum to chew
-A lot of Christians do not see the results they want in their life because they do not have enough of the Word of God inside of them
-Once a month they open their Bible “Jesus wept” and close it
-Now put the whole piece of gum in your mouth and chew (stop really fast)
-Produce a bubble – don’t chew anymore
-Why can’t you produce a bubble now? - Too much gum and not enough chewing
-Other Christians may read their Bible and hear the Word of God lots but they don’t spend time chewing on the Word.
-Tell the volunteer to chew the gum.
-In order for the Word of God to produce results in our life we need to chew and chew and chew on it day and night
-Examples:
“I can do all things through Christ who give me strength”
“God gives Michelle strength to do all things”
“By the Stripes of Jesus I was healed”
“My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in Glory”
-Have your volunteer now produce a bubble
