Props:
Small empty envelopes
$5.00 bill
Plate
Instructions:
Choose 3-4 volunteers to make an important choice. Once you get them up front. You are going to explain that one of the envelopes on the plate has $5.00 in it. Whoever chooses the correct envelope with the money gets to keep the money. The only rule is they can’t look in the envelope until everyone has chosen their envelope. Also, let them know you will choose and envelope also.
Allow each player to choose and envelope. Allow the players to switch with the leftover one on the plate. Once each player has the envelope they want for sure, you take the remaining envelope. Have the players check their envelope one at a time to see if they have the money. None of them will because you will have the money-no matter what envelope you choose.
Now open your envelope and reveal the money.
Trick: There was never money in any envelope. It is behind the plate. When you pull your envelope off the plate, you carefully slide the money behind the envelope. When you open your envelope you are really pulling the money from behind the envelope.
Discussion:
Everyday we make choices. There is one very important choice we make everyday- whether we are going to live for Jesus.
The most important and best choice we could ever make is to live for Jesus everyday of our lives.
