Discussion:

Introduction:
-JESUS WANTS ALL OF ME.
-He doesn’t want parts of our lives.
-It’s not okay to serve God sometimes. Jesus wants us all the time.
-This week we are going to talk about how Jesus wants our words to make Him happy

Let every detail of your lives-words, actions, whatever-be done in the name of the Master, Jesus

Object Lesson:
Open the Package to Pastor Eric

You need:
Cow Tongue wrapped in a box so that it looks like it came in the mail

Michelle – Pastor Eric, I think before we go any further you should open up that package that was sent to you. I want to see what is in it so badly. Does anybody have any guesses about what could be in the box?

(Pastor Eric should read the outside of the box – The World’s Deadliest Weapon. Then carefully open it up. It’s a tongue. Show it off to the kids)

Michelle – A tongue?!? What does that have to do with the world’s deadliest weapon?

Eric - The Bible teaches us that our tongue and the words we speak with it, is a very powerful weapon. Actually our tongue can be a killer.

Bible teaches us a lot about the tongue and words we say:

(Put up over head with points)

I looked up a bunch of Bible verses this week and I found 5 things that careless words will do.

-Careless words cause destruction
-Careless words turn peace into total chaos
-Careless words ruin a person’s reputation
-Careless words kill a person’s dream
-Careless words kill a person’s confidence.

Discussion:
-We can learn a very important lesson from the game we just played.
-It is impossible to put toothpaste back in the tube. Just like it is impossible to take back words once we have spoken them.
-Once words come out of our mouth, we cannot take them back. It is too late.

Conclusion:
-We are defined by the words we speak.
-The Bible says that if your words are perfect and true, then you are a perfect person.
-Jesus wants us to try and be a perfect person.
