Discussion:

Were going to do something very special today. I’m going to test your spelling skills. (Distribute letters to your volunteers prior to the lesson. Be sure they are seated in different areas)

How many people know how to spell the word Christian? I think I need some of you to come up here and remind me how to spell it. (Pick a couple people who think they can spell it)

What’s the first letter? - C (Have the person with “c” come to the front etc. . .Interrupt the a few times an ask if the whole word is spelled yet.)

Now what does this spell? ---Christian. It took nine people to come up here and spell this word. Now what happens if I take of the “n”? What if I decide I don’t like the “s” and take it out? Do I still have the word “Christian”? No? Why not? --Because it is missing the “n” and “s”.

We need all the letter to spell this word correctly. Just as each letter is important to spell this word, so each one of you is important to Jesus and to fulfilling what God wants to do.

We may not like people because of their hair color or the clothes they wear, but you know what? We still need them. We need each other. Kids, The Bible says what you do to
someone you do also to Jesus. Being mean to a person, is just like being mean to Jesus. Loving a person is just like loving Jesus. Accepting one another is not an option. God commands us to love one another.

Two Commandments

Jesus gave us 2 commandments. Just like you mom or dad gives you rules. Jesus said the 2 most important rules for us to follow are:
1.Love God with all our heart, soul and mind
2. Love one another - no matter what

What We Do For Jesus Will Last Forever

Discussion: Some people use others like this lemon. They squeeze all they can out of others just to get what they can for themselves. (Squeeze the lemons into the pitcher of water as you are speaking). But in the end, they always end up bitter just like this juice because users are always losers. You see, Jesus said that only what we do for him will really last. (Toss the rinds in the garbage).

But then there are others, true committed believers. They are always doing things for
others and loving other people. They’re like sugar. (Pour sugar into the lemon water. They bring the sweetness of Gods love to a world that’s gone sour.

The next time you’re served a glass of lemonade, it might just be a little reminder from the Lord. Do a quick heart check. Are you a Christian gone sour, or one who is pouring the love of Jesus into all of the lives you touch?
