The Fruit of the Spirit is an important aspect of the Christian life. Unlike the Gifts of the Spirit, which are given to us, the Fruit of the Spirit is cultivated over time. Each of the nine fruits listed in Galatians chapter five have to do with the character of a believer’s life. It is critical that we understand the different fruits, how they benefit us, and how we develop them in our lives. The Fruit of the Spirit begins as seeds in our hearts, and they grow as we intentionally develop each fruit. Gifts are given, but fruit takes time and effort to develop. God’s Word shows us how to nurture, foster, and grow in these powerful character traits that make us more like Jesus.
